The Equality Act (formerly The Disability Discrimination Act) made it the responsibility of all companies nationwide to ensure that access to buildings and services is available to everyone – there must be no discrimination.
To facilitate free access to buildings EVCS (Emergency Voice Communication System) or Disabled Refuge Systems have been designed to provide constant contact between the emergency services and members of the public seeking assistance.
The Notifier EVCS Range of Disabled Refuge Systems
The Notifier EVCS range is designed to comply with BS5839 Part 9 2003 and offers a fixed, secure, bi-directional, full-duplex voice communication system, to assist fire fighters within high rise buildings or large sites where radio communication may not be possible.
Emergency Assist Alarm points / Disabled toilet alarms can be incorporated into the EVCS system ensuring all calls relating to disabled communication can be displayed at a single point, providing the perfect solution for conformity with the Building regulations Document M and Equality act 2010.
